A versatile and classic piece of accent furniture can easily be enjoyed for a lifetime. With a little imagination, a chest of drawers, console, or cabinet can be displayed in a living room, foyer/entry, bedroom, or even a dining area.

This dresser from Universal Furniture is one of our favorites. See how we were able to use it as an entry table, a storage piece in a living room, and even as a nightstand in a bedroom!
3 Versatile ways to use it
Use 1: entry or foyer
Excite your guests with a stunning first impression of your home. We paired the dresser with a couple of statement dining chairs, the perfect spot to take off or put on your shoes. If you have a small entry you could use just one chair or opt for an ottoman.
We layered both a mirror and some artwork into this look to give a balance of elegance and personality. A decorative bowl provides a pop of color and is the perfect spot to drop your keys, pocket change, or mail. We finished the look with a beautiful recycled glass vase that can be filled with branches, stems, or florals! Using a storage piece in your entry way gives you a place to hide shoes, gloves/hats, or even your pet essentials!
USE 2: bedroom
Option 2 is a more traditional use for a chest of drawers. For large bedrooms with king beds, we recommend going with a larger piece like this for your nightstands. If your room can’t handle 2 large pieces on either side you could just do 1 larger nightstand and 1 smaller nightstand. Or, this piece can simply be your main dresser, as it was designed to be.
For this look, we layered a large statement mirror behind the table lamp. This will make the room feel bigger and bounce the light around. For the accessories, we kept it simple. A vase with some faux or fresh flowers, a few books for reading in bed, and a trinket bowl to help keep you organized.
USE 3: living room
Option 3 provides a storage piece for your living room. A great place to display a chest like this would be in between 2 windows or next to chair on a large blank wall. The extra storage gives you lots of flexibility. We chose this fun Gazelle artwork from Minted to pull together all the neutral tones. A pop of deep navy from the tray adds interest. The look is finished off with some fun gold bookends and a classic floor lamp.
We hope this inspires you to revitalize a treasured piece of furniture!
