Is summer really over? I refuse to be one of those people that jump on the Fall bandwagon too early.
But, with school back in session and stores rolling out their new Fall inventory, I suppose it’s time to embrace the change of season. Which means transitioning over to warmer hues and cozier accents.
To help you bring your home into the new season I’ve rounded up some of my favorite Fall decor items and trends!
Cooler temperatures warrant the need for rich warm tones and lots and lots of textures as we start spending more time indoors.
As much as I love Fall and all things pumpkin, I tend to prefer my decor brighter, lighter, and with cool tones like blues and greys. So, Fall decor can be a challenge for me. However, there’s nothing a little mix and matching can’t fix!
My Fall round up for this year blends rich, dark navy and grey with warm cognac, mustard and of course my favorite, brass metallics.
I love the mix of cool and warm tones in this painting. The darker moody colors make it perfect for Fall while the gray wash frame and cooler tones keep it from being too traditional.
Cognac leather makes my heart happy. I love the statement this chair makes when mixed with cooler tones. It adds just the right amount of warmth. When it’s paired with clean mid-century lines it’s still perfect for that more contemporary home.
One of the best ways to make your home feel cozy is texture. This faux fur ottoman from Pottery barn is a fun accent that will add both interest and function. Tuck one in a corner, under a console, or display it as an ottoman and it can double as extra seating when you host Sunday football parties.
More texture! Swap out your natural woven baskets for these grey baskets from Crate and Barrel. You can use them to store extra throws, pillows, games, even dog toys!
Time to swap out some of your greenery for warmer gold and orange tones. I’ve noticed a lot of these golden magnolia leaves and orange berry blossoms in the Fall decor market. You can find the magnolia stem above at Pottery barn.
Another simple way to warm up your color scheme without going overboard is by swapping out your oil rubbed bronze and silver accents for brass and copper. A few candle votives, a tabletop clock, and a new throw is enough to make a big impact!
