Ottomans are a great addition to any living room. They‘re not only a comfy place to rest your feet, but can double as a coffee table or additional seating when guests come over, and can even provide extra storage.
There are so many style options and fabric choices to fit any lifestyle. If you have kids and or pets consider leather over fabric. This will make cleaning up messes much easier! Ottomans are also a great option if you have small children as they’re less likely to hurt themselves by crashing into an ottoman rather than a wood coffee table.

CUBE OTTOMANS
These are a great option for just about any living room, especially small spaces. Due to their compact size, they can easily be moved around for a footstool or extra seating. You can pair them by a fireplace, under a console table or at one end of the living room to keep them accessible but out of your way when not in use.

Like cube ottomans, pouf ottomans are a great option and can easily fit into any living room. They’re light enough to be moved anywhere you need and take up little floor space.

COCKTAIL OTTOMANS
Cocktail ottomans are larger and meant to be used as a coffee table alternative. If you keep a lot of stuff on your table, look for an ottoman with a shelf underneath. I personally keep a tray on top which gives me a place to put magazines, remotes, and decorative objects like a vase of flowers. Just make sure the top is flat and does not have a curve to it!

BENCH OTTOMANS
A bench is a perfect coffee table alternative, especially in a narrow space as it won’t take up to much floor space. It can act as additional seating when guests are over and provide a place for games, pillows, and blankets (if you opt for storage).

Also, keep in mind ottoman heights will vary. You don’t want to be relaxing with your legs elevated way above your head! Therefore, I recommend measuring your sofa seat height and comparing it to the ottoman height.
